Pondichérie values craftsmanship, soul, and style in equal measure. We are dedicated to finding beauty while creating change, and the result is a handcrafted line of ethically conscious resort wear. Our caftan-inspired collections evoke timeless elegance while prioritizing sustainable practices. Each garment is woven for Pondichérie by craftswomen in India, with a specific emphasis on empowering and supporting our artisans.

Every piece of fabric is hand-died and woven using techniques that have been passed down through generations of artisans.

About the founder

Devon Lochmiller started Pondichérie after many years of working with philanthropic organizations dedicated to women’s empowerment and gender equality. The business is founded on a vision to support sustainable employment for women in the places that need it most.  

The label takes its name from the seaside town of Pondicherry, India where Devon purchased one of her most treasured souvenirs – a delicate hand painted silk caftan she still wears today. Pondichérie is the culmination of wistful memories of a sun-soaked childhood in Kauai, and an optimism for a brighter outlook for women of all communities.
